Solar Eclipse
Shot right from the heart of SE Portland. Buckman Park. Afternoon in June, 2002, as the daily grind goes by missing the show. It was surprising how few people knew or watched it. I stacked five or more filters on my telephoto lens and stared straight into the sun. No work today. Like wearing five pairs of sunglasses. The filters and telephoto gave me many interesting images. The eclipse is accurately shown here, ( except the sky was blue ). This partial sun hung over the city as the daily grind raced on. Actually a partial eclipse, this was near maximum. The multiple images were from reflections using a telephoto and filters. I liked it and went with it.
Shown in an 8"x10" photo only. I like this one without the mat border, or it looks great with a red / orange framing combination you choose.

Venus passes in front of the sun for us to see. A lifetime event ! The black spot is the planet. Shot in the afternoon from Oregon with passing clouds. Many filters made shooting into the sun possible.

Utah Star Trails Earth Rotation
From the banks of the Colorado river looking out of Cataract canyon. Time exposure. Excellent color and brightness against a dark sky. Just enough moon light to high light the canyon walls. Turn off lights, and enjoy the nights ! darksky.org.

Art Backs
All my art has writing on the back. Short, long, poetry, sketches, quotes. It changes over time. Putting out some messages, history, stories, websites, or fun. Sometimes I get rolling in the flow, and photos can come with very original poetry. Rarely, I write on the front. This has been a fun thing over the years and the great response from people keeps it evolving. Sometimes my booth feels like a library with all the reading going on. I take pride in making original, personal, signed art, not mass produced cheap things. Anything personally signed means more, and is worth more, as the years go by. It's important to me as an artist to put out a message, not just sell pretty pictures.
Photographs are not attached to boards. Frame both sides if you like. Some do.
